Fully Embrace And Be Present In The Quietness Of My Own Company
This is from David Whyte’s essay “Alone” in his book Consolations. He explores the concept of embracing solitude and silence as a means to confront and understand ourselves. He suggests that when we fully embrace silence, we cease the continuous internal stories that lead to self-definitions that are often not fully true. This pausing allows us to experience a raw and vulnerable state, leading to a deeper self-awareness and authenticity.
I find mindfulness meditation supports my intention to fully embrace and be present in the quietness of my own company….if only for a moment.
