Notice My Thoughts
“….anxiety is really not the problem. The problem is our relationship to anxiety.
Maybe, when you notice your thoughts clearly, you don’t have to believe them, and can consider different alternatives.”
Dr. Luana Marques, Anxiety is Not the Problem, Aug 30, 2024
What’s the greatest stressor in our lives? Perhaps it’s our own thoughts?!
Yep, it’s I who creates much of my own suffering and this happens to me daily. Mostly, the scale of suffering is small, yet it’s still suffering, as I grip too tightly on what “I want”. Sure, I need to show up in this world and share my light and don’t need to blind myself or others with what I perceive is right. It’s all just a thought…
My body tells me when I am gripping too much, ie. attached, with cognitive distortions. Usually sounds like “I don’t have a enough time” to pause and notice what my TEB cycle is telling me.
I find mindfulness meditation supports my intention to notice my thoughts…if only for a moment.
