Anxiety in Uncertain Times: Finding Solid Ground Together

This is an eight session, closed therapy group grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and psychodynamic approaches. The group provides a supportive space to slow down, build awareness, and develop a new relationship with anxious thoughts and emotions without the pressure to fix or eliminate them. Group focus and approach

  • Mindfulness and present moment awareness
  • Understanding how attempts to control anxiety can increase distress
  • Learning to relate differently to anxious thoughts and internal experiences
  • Exploring identity beyond anxiety based self definitions
  • Making room for grief and loss
  • Clarifying values as a guide for meaningful living
  • Taking values aligned action with support and accountability
  • Building steadiness through shared reflection and group connection

Session flow each week

  • Opening ritual

  • Group discussion and relational processing

  • Closing ritual

Eight session progression

  • Session 1 - Orientation, group norms, and shared exploration of how anxiety is currently managed
  • Session 2 - Willingness and acceptance; control versus agency
  • Session 3 - Learning to notice thoughts rather than be driven by them
  • Session 4 - Self as context; creating space from fixed self-stories
  • Session 5 - Practicing presence and compassion around grief
  • Session 6 - Values clarification as a guide for behavior
  • Session 7 - Committed action; taking meaningful steps forward
  • Session 8 - Integration and closing

Additional details

  • Starts Wednesday, February 18th @ 9:30-10:45am (eight sessions, closed group)
  • $120 - scholarship funds available
  • Registration is limited to support depth, safety, and cohesion
