Into Me See
"Teresa used the phrase the prayer of quiet to describe her deepest aspiration...to arrive through contemplative practice at a wordless state of intimacy with the Divine. It was not dualistic, not lover and beloved, but simply a state of being in love. As Richard (Rohr) often says, it is always both/and.”
Mirabai Starr, Sacred Speaks Podcast, 128 - Ordinary Mysticism: Your Life as Sacred Ground, 36:13
Mirabai Starr reminds us, via Teresa of Avila, that this kind of knowing of the Divine is embodied (more that just the intellect) and available in the ordinary moments of our lives. Ordinary Mysticism is treating your life as sacred and allowing everyday experiences to open a doorway to the Divine. Mindfulness becomes the practice that helps us notice these openings. As we sit, one is invited to let go of the “to do” list and notice moments of simply living. Breathing, sensing, allowing as there is nothing to fix….just being with what is.
I find mindfulness meditation supports my intention to have more "into me see” with the Divine ….if only for a moment.
