Be With All Things
“Salvation, therefore, is not a transaction that takes place outside us, but rather an empowering awareness that explodes within and then pervades our entire being.”
“If Mystery is the goal and content of all religious experience, then Silence is a necessary means of letting Mystery speak.”
― Paul F. Knitter, Without Buddha I Could Not be a Christian
I finished Knitter's book this week, and I wonder if the good news is less about a deal struck somewhere beyond us and more about waking up to what is already here, ie. "Heaven is Here When the Mind is Clear”? I don't wake up by thinking harder (my go to mindset). My mind is loud (ego - edging god out) and wants to “fix, manage and control”, and in so doing, I miss the explosion within. An ability to let go of the me and get to the interconnectedness of the we, all things, including the Mystery.
I find mindfulness supports my intention to be with all things….if only for a moment.
