Interpret Several Possibilities of Any Given Moment

"Try to remember that what something means to each of us is highly relative.  It depends on the experiences, preferences, beliefs, preconceptions, and expectations we project onto it.  If we can quiet our minds and become still enough, we can gain a deeper, broader understanding of those influences.  We can discover a deeper and broader meaning.  We can actually change the meaning of what happens to us in our daily lives.”

Meaning - Finding Purpose & Living with Intention - Still Life,  @ 8:12-11:22 min

So much of what I experience is shaped by the meaning I give it.  My expectations, beliefs and past experiences can unconsciously influence how I interpret the present moment.

Mindfulness invites me to become still enough to notice these influences.  In that stillness, I may see a bigger picture and begin to change the meaning of what has happened in front of my perceptions.

I find mindfulness supports my intention to interpret several possibilities of any given moment….if only for a moment.  😊
