Loosen The Grip
“Allowing life to happen is very important... Let things take their course... Let life direct you instead of always having to be in charge…”
Thomas Moore – The Eloquence of Silence, the Sacred Speaks podcast, ~17:40 minute.
Allowing is a word I return to often while sitting in silence. It gives permission to let go of being in charge and to let life unfold. Soon enough, my ego steps forward which eager to "fix, manage and control”. I know there is a wisdom larger than myself, and that creation happens in the shared space between my own spirit and the sacred moving through all things. It is a both/and, a confluence of connection. Still, I try to notice how often my hands tighten again and again around the steering wheel. I find mindfulness meditation supports my intention to loosen the grip….if only for a moment.
