Reset And Be Hopeful
“Hope is a discipline.”
Chris Jensen, Noblesville Mayer, Men @ 2nd Retreat Speaker
Chris Jensen, quite impressive, offered this at our Men’s Retreat this past Friday evening. Although not offered in a meditation context, I do believe that Mindfulness helps me understand hope not as a feeling I wait for but as a practice. Each time I notice distraction, fear, or discouragement and I gently come back to the present moment, I wonder if this allows greater hope? I believe this to be true. This returning allows greater patience, trust, a softening of the body and resilience even when circumstances have not changed. Hope is born through daily attention and commitment rather than dependent on outcomes.
I find mindfulness meditation supports my intention to reset and be hopeful….if only for a moment.
